Term Definition

Network A communication system consisting of a group of broadcasting stations that all transmit the same programs. (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, etc.)
NTIA National Telecommunications and Information Administration. The President's principal adviser on telecommunications and information policy issues.
NTSC National Television Systems Committee. This is the name of the old analog transmission standard used in the US, which the committee created in 1953. (Since June 13, 2009, all full-power U.S. television stations switched to DTV and now broadcast digital signals only.)
Native Resolution Specific resolution that a TV set — whether integrated or not — or a monitor, is designed to display. All other resolutions must be either up-converted or down-converted for display.
NTSC Tuner A device built in to a TV set that allows reception of analog broadcasting.
